We strive to tailor conference sessions to participants with different levels of experience and professional backgrounds. BELBI 2023 will include a variety of session formats. Here is a brief description of each session type.

Keynote lecture (60’) | The Keynote Lectures are aimed at a broad audience. Speakers who are leaders in their field give an excellent overview of a particular topic and a summary of their scientific achievements in that field. Topics should focus on the latest scientific findings on “hot” topics in bioinformatics and computational biology. | 45-50’ talk + Q&A 1 speaker 2 chairpersons |
Invited talk (20’) | Distinguished Speakers present their latest scientific achievements in a specific subtopic within the chosen main topic. | 15-20’ talk + 5’ discussion 2 chairpersons |
Oral presentation | Oral sessions present the latest scientific findings. Each oral session includes a set of selected abstracts on a particular topic (usually the abstracts with the highest scores within a category). | Up to 10’ talks, each with 5-10’ discussion for all presentations at the end of the session. 1-2 chairperson(s) |
ePoster presentation with flash talks | Accepted abstracts not scheduled for oral sessions will be presented in the ePoster sessions. All accepted posters will be presented in electronic format and will be available throughout the conference, during the ePoster sessions, and online at the conference website. | ePoster sessions are organised by subcategories/subtopics. Authors will have up to 3’ to present their work. 1-2 chairperson(s) |
